A lot of news from the Baltic States
(Stefanie Haubmann, 4B-Klasse)
On the 27th of January Margit Tintso from Estonia came to us, the 4B. She told us facts and many curiosities about the Baltic States: Estonia, Lithuania and Latvia. Estonia has about 1.3 Million inhabitants and the capital city is Tallinn. Most people come from Estonia, the other are Russian.
Latvia is bigger than Estonia and there live 2 Million people, who come from Latvia or Russia. The capital city is Riga.Lithuania is the biggest country, the population is 2.9 Million. The most people are Lithuanians, the other are Poles or Russian. The capital city is Vilnius.
The highest mountain of these states is not higher than 300 meters, but they have a lot of beautiful beaches. Estonia has many islands too. Each state has a different culture and a very different speech. Of course, the traditional food and clothes are different too.
The lesson with Margit Tintso was really great. We understood her English very well.
